Job Description Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager – Water and Wastewater Treatment to bebased in either our Waterloo or Toronto Area / Greater Toronto Area offices withdiversified experience in business development, project capture planning andproposal writing, design and construction contract administration of municipalprojects including water and wastewater treatment plants and associatedinfrastructure.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers avariety of work and will see you involved in:
Support our Water Practice Business Development group to continue ourexpansion of water infrastructure market share in Ontario. Activities willinvolve participating in client relationship development, project captureplanning and preparing proposals.
Work directly with senior engineers and technical teams in leading theexecution of various ongoing projects.
Manage projects with direct communication with clients, sub consultants, andcontractors.
Ensure project deliverables meet or exceed GHD’s internal and external clientquality objectives.
Prepare moderately complex documents using a variety of applications fortechnology devices, such as standard office software. Also responsible forgathering and summarizing data for reports.
Plan and deliver stakeholder engagement activities to develop effectiveworking relationships for projects and to ensure that stakeholder needs andconcerns are identified and met.
Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and developmentplanning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gainor maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, toimprove performance and fulfill personal potential.



Maintain an understandingof relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practicesthrough ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialistmedia.
Contribute to reviewing existing operations in own area of work, and generatenew ideas to assist in identifying continuous improvements.
Assign short-term work schedules to a team of subordinates in order toachieve expectations while following established timelines.
Conduct assurance reviews within the project, facilitate the delivery ofassurance reviews by independent third parties, and take appropriate actionto resolve any issues identified, so that senior stakeholders have confidencethat the project can deliver according to time, budget, and quality.
Manage the delivery of research, workshops, and other activities to supportthe specification and agreement of project deliverables.
Produce workstream or project plans, ensuring that all activities areidentified, are appropriately organized to deliver project objectives, andcompliance with the organization's project management framework.
Draft project review reports and presentations, including key information,commentary, and recommendations, to support the review process and enablestakeholders to evaluate progress and agree on change.
Manage the deployment of project resources, proactively managing projectcosts, providing forecasts, and presenting variances with narrative atappropriate review points to ensure effective utilization.
Identify and evaluate risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints associatedwith the project, escalating matters where appropriate. Where necessary,develop, agree on, and implement solutions to overcome these concerns.
Draft elements of product documentation and user training to support handoverto business as usual. Contribute to post-project reviews and identificationof lessons learned.




Lead a small project team; communicate the necessary outcomes and thedirection required to achieve them; coordinate team actions on projecttasks; request additional team member support when needed; and identify areas ofimprovement to build the capability of the team through training, coaching,and mentoring.
Coordinate the identification and elicitation of requirements; conductanalysis of those requirements for completion and alignment; document andmanage requirements throughout the life of the project; and coordinate theverification of the end deliverable. Generally done at the level of projectphases.
What you will bring to the team: Bachelor’s degree Civil Engineering
Professional Engineer Designation P.Eng.
Project Management Professional (PMP) Designation considered an asset.
10 - 15 years post-graduate experience - minimum 10 years in multi-disciplinewater and wastewater treatment projects.
Proven track record in business development, project capture planning, andproposal writing.
Proven experience in leading and managing technical and business aspects ofwater and wastewater treatment projects, including pumping stations, guidingproject teams through the study, design, and construction phases.
In depth knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes is required
Demonstrate strong knowledge of construction methods, logistics, equipment &methodology; selection.
Familiar with cost estimating & scheduling related to treatmentinfrastructure
Experience in risk management analysis, evaluation and presentation to theclient.
Experience in preparation of detailed design reports & constructionreporting.
Liaise with other disciplines, professionals, clients and third party asneeded.
Excellent verbal and report writing skills.
Excellent problem solving, decision making and teamwork skills.
Salary range: $86,688-$130,032
The salary range is based on the preferred work location. If the selectedcandidate’s location differs, changes to the salary range may apply.
