Hours: After‑school and evening hours (3:00 PM – 8:00 PM) and some Saturdays (10:00 AM – 3:00 PM). Preferred to work until the end of the term in June; continuing through the summer is even better.
Position Requirements
All Teacher‑Tutors at Oxford Learning work during after‑school and evening hours and must be reliable and available on a campus‑based schedule. This is an in‑person role; relocation packages are not available, and a commuting car or transit are required. Vulnerable‑sector screening is mandatory.
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification in a relevant field
Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered
Teaching certification is an asset
Good knowledge of the current Grades 9‑12 math and science curriculum, particularly senior math (Advanced Functions, Algebra, Trigonometry, Calculus, Vectors) and science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology)
Experience
Some experience teaching or tutoring math and science at Grades 9‑12 (or equivalent) level
Robust English written and oral communication skills
Robust math skills and the ability to guide students’ understanding
Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time
Responsibilities
Teach up to three students simultaneously at different levels
Apply the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies
Complete post‑lesson notes and daily student communication updates
Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times
