DHL Supply Chain is seeking a Research Assistant to conduct complex data analysis in Mississauga, ON. This person will be involved in various aspects of projects from concept and story writing to the coding, programming, and implementation of results.
Responsibilities
Converts business needs into mathematical equations/expressions.
Develops mathematical and/or heuristic algorithm(s) with all practical constraints and assumptions.
Codes the analytical tools in assigned programming languages.
Conducts tool design reviews.
Creates prototype of tool with basic interface for management.
Documents tool design process.
Required Education and Experience
Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, C++, Java — required.
Working knowledge of MS Office — required.
Valuable communication skills — required.
Working knowledge of SQL — preferred.
Positive understanding of basic concepts in optimization and simulation — preferred.
Valuable understanding of current heuristics/meta-heuristics used in industry and academia to solve analytical problems — preferred.
