Assistant Golf Professional: Maple City Country Club Maple City Country Club is a private club in Chatham-Kent with 630 members, offering exceptional amenities and services. We provide a premier golfing experience, together with dining room & bar services, all within a beautiful and well-maintained 18-hole golf course and practice facility on the Thames River. Location Maple City Country Club Posted 2026-09-02 Deadline 2026-10-02 Job Summary Maple City Country Club is seeking a friendly, professional, and customer-focused Assistant Golf Professional to join our team. The Assistant Professional is responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations in the golf shop, assisting with the organization of golf tournaments/leagues as well as conducting lessons and fitting sessions for members. The Assistant Professional also serves as one of the first points of contact for members and guests, providing exceptional customer service while assisting with golf operations, tee time management, merchandise sales, and day-to-day Pro Shop activities. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a passion for creating an outstanding golf experience for our members and guests.
Teaching lessons/clinics throughout the season
Assist with tournament operations and weekly Men's and Ladies' leagues
Meets and greet all members and their guests in a friendly, courteous and professional manner
Assist members and guests with purchasing pro shop items and ability to explain golf products and services and other information about the Club
Supervision and oversight over back shop staff




Perform light cleaning duties throughout and ensure the pro shop and cart fleet are clean and organized at all times
Register all Point-of-sale transactions with accuracy
Keep the Head Professional informed of any incidents or concerns as related to staff and services provided
Ensure compliance to Club Bylaws/Policies and Standard Operating Procedures
Other duties as assigned
PGA of Canada member in good standing or currently enrolled in the process
Strong playing/teaching ability is an asset
Robust communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle point-of-sale transactions accurately. Familiarity of Jonas Club Management and Smart Golf is considered an asset
Possess and maintain an RCMP Vulnerable sector security clearance and Class A valid driver’s license.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Proficiency with basic computer applications including knowledge of Excel and Word.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift and move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs.
Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Compensation The Assistant Professional is compensated through a bi-weekly salary ranging from $1,750 - $1,900 for a standard 35-hour work week in the pro-shop. Compensation will be determined at the time of hire and may be reviewed periodically based on performance, responsibilities assumed, and length of service. All hours worked will be compensated in accordance with the provisions of the Ontario Employment Standards Act, 2000.
The Assistant Professional will typically be scheduled to work 35-hours per week in the pro-shop, completing league/tournament duties, and scheduling. Must have availability to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Work schedule subject to change based on tournament and special event periods. The Assistant Professional will additionally earn 100% of all lesson/clinic revenues. Time to run lessons, clinics and playing with members is not included in the 35-hour work week.
