Coastal Shipping Limited, a member of the Woodward Group , is currently recruiting qualified Deckhands for September openings aboard our Canadian tanker fleet.

We are seeking candidates interested in both seasonal full-time rotational positions and short-term relief/fill-in assignments . This is an excellent opportunity for experienced seafarers looking to join a qualified, safety-focused marine team and gain experience in tanker operations. Our vessels operate in a variety of Canadian waters, including Arctic, coastal and Great Lakes operations .

Position Details

Position: Deckhand (AB/OS)

Employment: Seasonal Full-Time and Relief / Fill-In Opportunities

Start: September 2026

Rotation: 38 Days On / 38 Days Off for regular seasonal positions; relief assignments may vary

Fleet: Coastal Shipping Limited Tanker Fleet

Key Responsibilities
As a Deckhand, you will support the safe and efficient operation of the vessel, including:

Mooring, unmooring and anchoring operations

Safe handling of lines, hoses and deck equipment

Assisting with tanker cargo and deck operations as directed

General vessel maintenance, cleaning, painting and preservation

Maintaining deck machinery, equipment and work areas

Participating in safety drills and emergency response duties

Following vessel Safety Management System (SMS), environmental and security procedures

Working closely with Deck Officers and other crew members to maintain safe and efficient operations

Performing other deck duties as assigned

Required Qualifications & Documentation
Candidates must hold the appropriate valid marine certifications for the position. Please submit copies of applicable documents with your application, including:

Bridge Watch Rating Certificate





Valid Transport Canada Marine Medical

STCW Basic Safety Training

Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boats (PSCRB), as applicable

Tanker Oil and Chemical Certificate

Marine Security Training

Seafarer’s Identity Document

Valid passport/travel documentation

Proof of eligibility to work in Canada

Previous tanker experience is considered a strong asset. Experience in Arctic, northern or ice-covered waters is also an asset.

Relief opportunities are a great way to gain experience within our fleet and may lead to consideration for future assignments.

Future assignments and continued employment are subject to operational requirements, performance and business needs.
