Become a vital part of the Youth Forensic Psychiatric Services team as a Community Nurse in Surrey, BC. This hybrid role focuses on providing essential mental health care for adolescents facing legal issues.
As a Community Nurse, you will interact closely with adolescents experiencing mental health challenges, acting as a case manager or primary nursing therapist. You'll be integral to a cooperative setting, offering counseling and working on treatment plans while preparing reports related to assessments. This role grants you clinical independence in addressing complex health concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Offer counseling and treatment to youth in crisis - Prepare reports detailing treatment and assessments - Collaborate with probation and community agencies - Manage clinical resources and coordinate care - Work within a supportive team setting to enhance adolescent health
Requirements: - Degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing required - Minimum three years of relevant nursing experience - Must be licensed with the BCCNM in BC - Preference given to those with adolescent experience in mental health - Must pass a criminal record check
