Purpose and Impact
Our story is about more than great beverages, it's about people, pride, and progress. As a Retail Clerk, you will create exceptional customer experiences through retail, hospitality, and brewery tour operations while representing the Sleeman brand. Your contribution helps drive customer satisfaction, support brewery retail operations,
and strengthen the connection between our consumers and our products.
Schedule: Part-time, up to 15 hours per week. Wage: starting at $22.67 per hour
Responsibilities
Customer Experience & Sales
Deliver exceptional front-line customer service to external customers and Sleeman employees through in-person, phone, and email interactions.
Process beer and merchandise sales accurately for internal and external customers while ensuring a positive customer experience.
Respond to customer inquiries, provide product recommendations, and resolve customer concerns in a skilled andtimelymanner.
Serve patrons in the taproom and patio while promoting responsible beverage service practices.
Retail Operations & Inventory Management
Perform opening and closing procedures,including tillbalancing and daily operational checks.
Maintain inventory levels and merchandising standards for beer, apparel, glassware, promotional products, and other retail items.
Process customer purchases accurately andmaintaincash-handling controls.
Manage empties collection and reconciliation activitiesin accordance withestablished procedures.
Product Handling & Distribution
Assistcustomers with loading cases of beer and kegs into vehicles whenrequired.
Complete home beer deliveries through the Retail Outlet while delivering excellent customer service.
Safely handle, move, and store products in support of retail operations.
Operate low-lift equipment following training and certification requirements.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
Adhere to food safety requirements applicable to the role andreportnon-conformities.
Follow Smart Serve,healthandsafety, andcompanypolicies and procedures.
Maintain a clean, safe,
and welcoming retail, taproom, patio, and tour environment for customers and employees.
Skills and Qualifications (Required)
Must be at least 19 years of age or older.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills with a commitment to deliveringa superiorcustomer experience.
Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability tolift upto 160 lbs.
Valid Smart Serve Certificate.
Valid Class G driver’slicencewith a clean driving record.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
One (1) year of cash-handling and key-holder experience, preferably within the food and beverage industry, is strongly preferred.
Previousretail and customer service experience is strongly preferred.
Digital media experience is considered an asset.
Ability tooperatelow-lift equipment; training and certification will be provided.
Work Environment (Hybrid/Onsite)
This position is Onsite and requires regular interaction with customers in the retail store, taproom, patio, and brewery environment. The role includes standing for extended periods, lifting and moving product, completing deliveries, and working evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs.
