Venor is proud to partner with Black & McDonald Limited in their search for a Service Project Sales Representative to join their Nova Scotia Service team in Dartmouth. What You’ll Be Doing Develop, estimate, and close design-build mechanical service projects with new and existing clients.
Conduct site assessments to understand client needs, evaluate existing systems, and develop project scopes.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor on operational, maintenance, and energy-efficiency needs.
Identify opportunities involving HVAC, building automation, controls, and energy optimization solutions.
Prepare accurate estimates, quotations, and proposals, including energy analysis, ROI, and cost justification where appropriate.
Review drawings, specifications, and site conditions to determine project requirements and costs.
Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, manufacturers, utilities, and internal teams to develop effective project solutions.
Present recommendations, negotiate project opportunities, and support clients through the sales process.
Support key client accounts through regular communication, client reviews, and proactive identification of future facility needs.
Coordinate project handoff, ensuring scopes, estimates, and supporting documentation are complete and accurate.
Work closely with project execution teams to support scheduling, procurement, and successful delivery.
Maintain sales opportunities, pipeline activity, forecasts, and reporting within Salesforce.
What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate is a relationship-driven technical sales professional who understands building systems and enjoys developing practical solutions to improve facility performance.
You bring the technical aptitude to understand a client’s needs and the commercial mindset to translate those needs into well-defined, valuable project opportunities.
You are proactive, organized, and comfortable managing multiple opportunities at different stages of the sales cycle.
You communicate effectively with clients, technicians, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams and take a collaborative approach from initial opportunity through project execution.
Experience in technical sales, project sales, estimating, or business development within the mechanical service, HVAC, controls, or construction industry.
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, building automation, controls, and mechanical building systems.
Experience developing project scopes, estimates, quotations, and client proposals.
Strong account management and consultative selling skills.
Ability to identify and position energy-efficiency and sustainability solutions as value-added opportunities.
Experience reviewing drawings, specifications, and site conditions is considered an asset.
Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Self-motivated and results-oriented with strong organization and time-management skills.
Mechanical engineering or technology diploma/degree is considered an asset; relevant experience as a qualified mechanical or HVAC tradesperson will also be considered.
3–5 years of experience in a similar mechanical service or project sales environment is considered an asset.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and experience with Salesforce or another CRM platform.
