STS Technical Services is hiring Aircraft Engine Technicians to perform on-wing maintenance and top case repairs on CFM56-5 and CFM56-7 engines. This assignment is based in Canada and requires a valid passport. The role focuses on extending engine time on-wing while minimizing costly shop visits through precise repair work and inspection.

Position Summary
The Aircraft Engine Technician will perform top case removal, inspections, repairs, and reassembly on CFM56 engines. Work scope includes high-pressure compressor (HPC) top case repairs, liner and seal land restoration, and blending. As responsibilities expand, technicians may also support borescope inspections (BSI) to evaluate engine condition and guide decision-making on continued operation or shop visits.

Key Responsibilities

Perform on-wing top case repairs, including:

HPC case wear or damage correction

Liner repairs for rub or thermal distress

Blend-outs of minor nicks, dents, and rubs on the inner case

Seal land restoration to maintain blade tip clearances

Minor crack repairs within AMM/EO/DER limits

Conduct case splitting, stage 3 blade/vane replacement, and full reassembly





Troubleshoot and implement corrective actions to return engines to service safely and efficiently

Document all maintenance work in compliance with regulatory and OEM requirements

Collaborate with engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to ensure repair accuracy and reliability

Assist with borescope inspections (BSI) as responsibilities expand

Qualifications

FAA Powerplant License required (Airframe not required)

Proven hands‑on experience with CFM56-5 and/or CFM56-7 engine maintenance

Robust technical knowledge of case repair procedures and industry maintenance standards

Ability to work independently in field and on-wing environments

Proficiency in interpreting AMM, EO, SRM, and DER documentation

Tools Equipment

Technicians must provide their own standard tools

Specialty tools and fixtures will be supplied by the customer

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with airline, OEM, or MRO maintenance operations

OEM or type‑specific CFM56 training/certification

Familiarity with borescope inspections or NDI techniques
