About the Role
Our projects are diverse and include geotechnical/civil engineering, QA/QC construction monitoring, drill monitoring, geo-environmental monitoring, site investigations, foundation inspections, and soil and concrete lab testing. We work across various industries, from open-pit mining environments to municipal infrastructure projects.

These full time, field-based roles require a strong alignment with Terracon’s core values: Safety, Integrity, Teamwork, and Entrepreneurism (S.I.T.E.). We are currently hiring individuals with a Geoscience background to work on a multitude of differing drilling, mining, heavy civil and municipal projects. We anticipate this position to have a Fall 2026 start date.

Job Responsibilities
Geology and Geotechnical

Drill monitoring and geological logging

Core description and sampling

Geotechnical investigations, sampling and installations

Groundwater monitoring

Pump testing

Soil/surface-water sampling





Environmental field programs

Construction and QA/QC

Soil, aggregate, and concrete testing

Earthwork inspections

Piling monitoring

Construction quality assurance

Project Delivery

Technical reporting

Data collection and interpretation

Building and maintaining client relationships

Project scheduling and documentation

What We Look For
We are seeking individuals with:

A degree/diploma in Geology or Earth Science, Geoscience, Geo Environmental or an equivalent combination of education and /or field experience.

Legal authorization to work in Canada.

A valid driver’s license and a driver abstract in good standing.

Individuals who can complete physical field work and pass a fitness-for-work test.Individuals that are capable of working in safety-sensitive environments and can meet drug and alcohol testing requirements.Individuals who want to learn, share, and grow themselves and the business.

Additional Assets

Experience in a technical field-based role is an asset, as is experience in the geoscience industry.

Proficiency in off-road 4x4 driving and winter conditions.

BSO/CSO, H2S & CCIL certification.

Membership with ASET or APEGA are considered additional advantages.

Opportunities are primarily based in Fort McMurray.

Fieldwork includes 12-hour shifts (day/night) in various project environments.
