Mechanical Engineer / MASc
Vancouver (UBC), Canada
We are seeking a talented andexperienced mechanical engineer to join our power electronics lab. In thisrole, you will be responsible for designing and implementing mechanical systemsand components for our power electronic platforms while enrolling in a Master’sprogram at the University of British Columbia. During this time, you will be developing and honing a diverse set of skills in mechanical and electricalengineering for a wide spectrum of exciting projects with green energyapplications.
Key responsibilities:
Design and analyze mechanicalsystems and components for power electronics applications
Develop and test prototypes andproduction-ready products
Collaborate with across-functional team of electrical, mechanical, and software engineers
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in mechanicalengineering or a related field
1+ years of experience inmechanical design,
preferably in power electronics or a related industry
Proficiency in 3D CAD software(e.g. SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software(e.g. ANSYS, COMSOL Multiphysics, Abaqus)
Familiarity with rapidprototyping (3D Printing) and high-volume production methods (injectionmolding, extrusion, casting, etc.) is a great asset.
Solid problem-solving andcommunication skills
Openness to learn and take onnew skills.
