Job Summary: The Specialized IT Consultant - Senior will lead efforts in implementing and managing clinical terminologies and digital health standards to enhance healthcare delivery.

This role focuses on leveraging digital solutions within a clinically-led change program to improve frontline clinical practices across Canadian healthcare settings, ensuring interoperability and effective partner engagement.

Responsibilities: Conduct requirements gathering and develop comprehensive documentation including presentations and briefing notes.

Engage and collaborate with partners and subject matter experts from clinical, business, and technical backgrounds.

Analyze and document business needs and requirements related to clinical terminologies and digital health standards.

Develop, validate, and maintain terminology artifacts and digital health specifications.

Support data standards testing and provide consultation to internal and external partners.

Contribute to forms design, development, and harmonization efforts to reduce paper-based processes.

Required Skills & Certifications: Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in mapping and implementing clinical terminologies such as SNOMED CT and LOINC.

Extensive knowledge of digital exchange standards including FHIR and pan-Canadian digital health standards and tooling.





Experience implementing terminology solutions in Canadian healthcare settings (acute care, primary care, community care).

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with proven partner engagement abilities.

Excellent time management skills to handle multiple projects and tight deadlines.

Experience with FHIR standards assessment, development, and maintenance processes.

Preferred Skills & Certifications: Familiarity with Microsoft products, particularly Microsoft Office 365 and cloud-based tools.

Knowledge of healthcare information systems and jurisdictional electronic health record projects.

Experience with terminology asset management tools such as Apelon DTS, Term Works, Ontoserver, or Shrimp.

Robust analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

Team player with a record of meeting deadlines.

Special Considerations: Position is remote but may require changes at the manager''s discretion.

Experience working within public sector healthcare environments is required.

Role involves collaboration with multiple partners and stakeholders across jurisdictions.
