The Simcoe County District School Board is seeking a qualified Behaviour Support Worker. Enhance student experiences through behavioral support in schools and the community.
This temporary, full-time position focuses on providing direct support to children and youth, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorders. You'll play a critical role in implementing applied behavior analysis strategies, managing team efforts, and assessing behavioral needs. Interaction with the Principals of Special Education and clinical staff is vital for monitoring progress and adapting strategies to support student development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support students with complex behavioral challenges
• Implement ABA strategies and behavior management systems
• Conduct and support functional behavioral assessments
• Collaborate with educational teams to create positive learning environments
• Provide professional development for school staff
Requirements:
• Two-year college diploma or university degree related to child services
• At least two years experience in special education
• Robust interpersonal and communication abilities
• Proven experience with ABA programs
• Valid transportation to travel across the Board
