Lead legal and operational strategies at the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team in this pivotal Assistant Executive Director position. Located in Calgary or Edmonton, this full-time role requires substantial criminal law experience.
You will provide critical support to the Executive Director, ensuring that investigations are carried out with legal diligence and strategic insight. This position requires involvement in complex matters, advising on legislative compliance and overseeing sensitive investigations that directly impact public trust.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver advanced legal insights supporting ASIRT's roles
• Ensure lawful conduct of investigations and evidence collection
• Review investigative files for prosecution readiness
• Advise on jurisdictional and evidentiary standards
• Lead complex projects with multiple stakeholders
Requirements:
• Degree in law; eligible for Alberta Law Society
• 8+ years of criminal law experience
• Expert in Alberta’s criminal prosecutions
• Strong leadership and coaching abilities
• Excellent communication skills and proven judgment
