Validate investment holdings, accounting entries, and financial information across investment accounting, general ledger, and data environments

Execute and support complex accounting activities including asset transfers, backdated transactions, client fairness adjustments, impairments, book corrections, and journal entries

Oversee daily investment pool certificate transactions, portfolio structure changes, and client ownership updates

Investigate, resolve, and prevent accounting, data quality, and reporting issues

Drive process automation and efficiency improvements using data analytics and reporting tools

Develop and enhance reporting processes, dashboards, and controls using Power BI and other analytical tools

Participate in change management initiatives, system testing, and sign-off activities for accounting system enhancements

Analyze large datasets to identify issues, validate results, and support business decision-making

Support internal and external audit requests and respond to accounting and financial inquiries

Collaborate with Finance, Investments, Operations, and Technology stakeholders to ensure accounting and investment data integrity

Develop expertise in AIMCo's fund accounting environment, portfolio structures, investment accounting processes, SimCorp Dimension, reporting tools, and data ecosystem

Identify and help implement improvements to controls, reporting, and automation processes

Deliver accurate, timely, and high-quality accounting analysis supporting business and client needs

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline

CPA designation required

3+ years of relevant experience within the financial services or investment management industry

Strong understanding of finance, accounting, investment operations, and business concepts

Advanced Excel skills with demonstrated expertise working with large and complex datasets

Solid experience in financial and data analysis





Hands-on experience with SQL, Power BI, Databricks, and other data analytics tools

Experience working with SimCorp Dimension (SCD) is highly desirable

Knowledge of capital markets, investment instruments, and quantitative analysis

Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and quality

Strong problem-solving abilities with a proven track record of independently researching and resolving issues

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to work effectively across teams and stakeholders

Experience with Power Query, Python, Snowflake, or similar analytical tools is considered an asset
