The Wilder Institute’s Calgary Zoo is seeking a dedicated Associate Veterinarian with a minimum of three years of zoological medicine experience. Candidates should ideally have completed an internship or residency and possess robust verbal and written communication skills. This full-time role places a premium on teamwork and independent judgment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct routine health assessments and clinical procedures
• Execute surgical interventions and manage animal pathology
• Collaborate effectively with team members on health issues
• Engage in emergency response initiatives within the zoo
• Establish rapport with zoo management and clientele
Requirements:
• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine licensed in Alberta
• At least three years of full-time zoological experience
• Board certification or eligibility by ACZM
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Capability to handle emergency response protocols
