Join the Town of Newmarket's Overnight Winter Sidewalk Patrol team to maintain safe pedestrian pathways during winter months. This position emphasizes effective communication and operational knowledge.

This seasonal role involves inspecting sidewalks, trails, and parking lots, responding to winter weather conditions, and operating specialized vehicles. The ideal candidate will ensure community safety through diligent observation and maintenance responses. Availability for overnight shifts is necessary, working around the clock during peak winter months from November to April.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct inspections of key municipal surfaces
• Evaluate surface conditions for safety and maintenance
• Operate sidewalk maintenance vehicles as needed




• Ensure proper record-keeping of conditions observed
• Interact positively with the public regarding safety

Requirements:
• High School diploma or GED essential
• Valid Class “G” Driver’s Licence required
• Previous experience in roads or parks maintenance is beneficial
• Knowledge of Ontario Highway Traffic Act essential
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills
