POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the direction of the Program Supervisor of the Blood Tribe Safe Home and Assessment Centre; the Child Care Worker will work in a team environment and will provide a secure short-term nurturing environment for children in care.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment that supports the emotional well-being of children in care.
- Provide direct supervision of children and ensure their safety at all times.
- Develop, implement, and participate in structured and unstructured daily activities and programming.
- Liaise effectively with involved professionals and significant family members.
- Maintain the Safe Home environment, including cleaning, meal preparation, and laundry for clients.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation, including daily logs and intake reports.
- Adhere to organizational policies,
procedures, and confidentiality requirements.
- Maintain cooperative working relationships with team members.
- Manage crisis situations using effective problem-solving and de-escalation techniques.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Child and Youth Care or a related field.
- Valid Class 5 Driverâs License and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Successful completion of CYIM/ISIS check and Criminal Record Check.
