North Langley Community Church is a 4-campus multisite church with three campuses scattered throughout Langley Township and one on the edge of Langley and Surrey. The position serves the Aldergrove Campus. It is a congregation of about 400 people. The NLCC Aldergrove team includes the Campus Pastor, Community Life Pastor, Family Ministries Director, Worship Coordinator, and Campus Coordinator.

Purpose of Role The NLCC Aldergrove Youth Director / Pastor is primarily responsible for the implementation of gospel-focused youth programing at the Aldergrove Campus. They will also provide leadership to the campus and be involved in NLCC’s all-staff and youth department functions.

Aldergrove Youth (70%)

YOUTH LEADERSHIP

- Ensure a dynamic youth program at the NLCC Aldergrove campus for grades 6 – 8 (MSY) and grades 9 – 12 (HSY) that connects students to the life-changing power of Jesus. This includes two High School Youth (HSY), and two Middle School Youth (MSY) Sunday Gatherings each month, and regular mid-week programs for students and Youth Retreats.

- Recruit, mentor and shepherd a team of volunteers for Aldergrove MSY and HSY in a manner consistent with the Ministry Development Pipeline.

- Ensure smooth and helpful transitions for incoming and outgoing students between K-5/MSY, MSY/HSY, HSY/Young Adults.

- Oversee the youth space at Aldergrove

- Under the Youth department head, oversee the Aldergrove section of the youth budget.

YOUTH TEACHING

- Research, prepare, and deliver messages for youth group gatherings.

- Develop curriculum for Sunday morning gatherings.

- Curate Biblical leadership training for student leader cohort

- Train and mentor youth leaders to research, prepare and deliver messages.

Aldergrove Campus Leadership (20%)

- Assist with Aldergrove Campus initiatives: ex volunteer training, volunteer appreciation, move camp, and AG special events, etc.

- Assist Aldergrove in implementation of NLCC’s Strategic Priorities as determined by the Lead Team.





- Provide support to Aldergrove’s Local Outreach to reach out into our community.

- Participate in Aldergrove’s Ministry Development Pipeline

- Participate in Aldergrove Campus meetings: AG Service planning meetings, AG Staff meetings/events, Aldergrove Leadership Team (ALT).

- Host services regularly.

- Prepare for and preach God’s word 1 – 3 Sundays a year.

Other (10%)

- Be a part of the larger NLCC Youth Team, participating in department meetings and all-campus youth events.

- Attend NLCC all staff functions as requested. (prayer, lunch, offsites, etc.)

- Supports and adheres to NLCC’s multisite playbook and vision.

- Other duties as determined by the AG Campus Pastor.

- Love for North Langley Community Church, Aldergrove, ministry and Jesus.

Communication

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skill, in person, by phone, and in writing.

Task Management

- Good organization and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

- Ability to discern work priorities and meet deadlines with little supervision.

Technical Skills

- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Slack, Rise, and Planning Center.

- Able to learn dedicated software for various systems and tasks.

Status: Full-Time |40 hours / week.
