Position: Casual Environmental Service/Laundry Worker

Hours of Work: 8-hour shifts between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. laundry 7am to 3pm and 9am to 5pm. On-call, 0 to 40 hours per week, 7 days per week, including holidays. Hours and schedule subject to change.

Probationary rate: $18.77 Wages scheduled to increase

Duties:

- Capable of performing a variety of Environmental Service/ Laundry duties.
- Must be able to perform in a busy environment.
- Promote and maintain the safety of residents, staff and visitors at all times.
- Performs duties in a caring and professional manner.
- Must demonstrate ability to work well as a team member.
- Attend in-service programs, education and training sessions and maintains knowledge of the facility's policies and procedures.
- Participate in safety and quality assurance programs by providing constructive ideas and solutions to problems and challenges.
- Attend in-services, educational and training sessions for self-development.
- Attend compulsory fire safety orientation and WHMIS programs yearly.

Qualifications:

- Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Good attendance and work record.




- Sewing an asset but not a requirement.
- Good general health which allows for the ability to attend work on a regular basis and meet the physical demands of the position.
- Good general hygiene.
- In accordance with the Organization's Police Record Check Policy, the position requires the incumbent to submit a Police Record Check Clearance including vulnerable sector.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instruction.
- Ability to work as a team member.
- Ability to adapt to changing workplace workplace.
- Ability to operate environmental service/ laundry equipment.
- Ability to organize workload.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents, coworkers, managers, volunteers, families and members of the public.
