About your team As a Student Web Developer, you''ll be part of the dynamic Web Platforms and Publishing Services, team, an agile group of developers, infrastructure specialists and designers.

Our team supports the Bank''s web infrastructure, develops and maintains critical data pipelines and APIs, and delivers digital publishing solutions that help bring key information to Canadians.

We value innovation, collaboration, and open communication, and play a significant role in maintaining and enhancing the Bank of Canada''s web presence.

What You Will Do As a member of the Web Platform Publishing Services team, you will play an important role in enhancing the usability of the Banks web applications and websites.

Your responsibilities will include: Collaborating on the development of web-based products Writing clean code in PHP, Python and/or Java





Script Supporting both back-end and front-end development efforts Contributing to team meetings and sharing ideas to improve web development processes and user experiences You''ll have the chance to contribute to the evolution of the Bank''s digital platforms and gain valuable hands-on experience.

What You Need to Succeed We''re seeking creative individuals who thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy overcoming challenges.

Your experience in web development should include: Hands-on experience with PHP, particularly in developing and maintaining Word

Press sites, themes and plugins.

Proficiency in Python or Java

Script.

Positive understanding of front-end development technologies, including CSS, React and responsive design principles.

Familiarity with various web frameworks and libraries, such as Laravel or FastAPI.

Solid understanding and experience with relational databases, such as MySQL & MS SQL.

Experience with iterative web development and test-driven development.

Experience with automated testing using PHPUnit, Behat, Selenium and Playwright.

Nice to Have Portfolio or Git repository showcasing your previous projects and code examples.

Familiarity with AI tools and generative AI technologies, and the ability to apply them effectively in software development and problem-solving activities.

Familiarity with Azure services.

Your Education You must be currently enrolled in a co-op program in a college or university (undergraduate level) on a full or part-time basis, pursuing a degree in computer studies, engineering, web development, or a related field.

Additionally,



you must be returning to school in the next academic term.

Language requirement The Banks work environment is conducive to the use of both of Canadas official languages - English and French.

Although the position language requirement is English or French essential, we do encourage everyone to improve second their language proficiency for future career growth and to contribute towards fostering a bilingual environment.

What you need to know This position is full time (37.5 hours per week).

Most employees can telework from home for a portion of each month as part of the Banks hybrid work model, and they are expected on site at the Bank location a minimum of 12 days per month to help build connections between colleagues.

You must live in Canada, and within reasonable commuting distance of the office.
