**Job Title: Packager**
**Job Description**
This role focuses on safely packaging and repackaging industrial gases into smaller cylinders, using specialized machinery, pneumatic lifting equipment, and a sit-down counterbalance forklift.

You ensure accurate filling, labeling, documentation, and quality checks so that gas products are safely prepared and ready for shipment to a wide range of customers.
**Responsibilities**
Load gas cylinders onto racks and operate filling machines to transfer gases into smaller containers.

Use pneumatic lifting equipment to move and position cylinders safely and efficiently.

Remove filled cylinders from racks, place them on pallets, and prepare them for storage or shipment.

Operate a sit-down counterbalance forklift to move cylinders and pallets throughout the facility.

Apply accurate labels to cylinders and packaging in line with documentation and quality standards.

Use a computer to validate gas pressure levels, record data, and consult work orders.

Follow documented procedures to complete required documentation and basic quality control checks.

Scrape old labels or markings from cylinders and prepare them for reuse.

Run basic tests on cylinders and gases as part of the quality control process.

Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment when filling, testing, and handling gases.

Maintain a clean, organized work area and support a safe, efficient production environment.
**Essential Skills**
Experience with packaging or material handling in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Mechanical aptitude, particularly with compressors and pneumatic systems.

Ability to operate or learn to operate a sit-down counterbalance forklift.

Experience using pneumatic lifts or similar lifting equipment.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly during the shift.

Basic computer skills, including the ability to enter data and review work orders.

Ability to read, follow, and complete documentation accurately.

Experience with labeling and basic quality control processes.

Comfort working around chemical or gas packaging operations while following safety procedures.

**Work Workplace**
The facility is a up-to-date, state-of-the-art plant dedicated to recovering and repurposing gases from decommissioned equipment such as chillers.

The environment is clean, well-organized, and brightly lit, with a strong focus on safety and quality.

You work with gas cylinders, compressors, pneumatic lifts, filling machines, and a sit-down counterbalance forklift, using computers to manage work orders and validate gas pressure levels.

The standard shift runs from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., including two paid 15-minute breaks and one unpaid 30-minute lunch.

Personal protective equipment is provided and required for certain procedures, such as filling and testing, to ensure safe handling of gases and equipment.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dartmouth, NS.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
