Columbia Ice is seeking an experienced senior operational leader to join the company as Chief Operating Officer -
Multi-Branch Operations.
Based in Courtenay, British Columbia, the COO will report directly to the CEO and lead company-wide operational
execution across Columbia Ice's Courtenay, Duncan and Campbell River locations.
Columbia Ice is an established Vancouver Island water-services company providing bottled and bulk water delivery,
commercial and residential water supply, cooler services, cistern cleaning and related services.
The company is strengthening its executive and management structure to create one cohesive multi-branch organization,
improve operating efficiency and scalability and support continued growth, particularly across the North Island.
The Role
The COO will be the senior executive responsible for translating CEO-approved strategy into measurable company-wide
execution.
The role will lead through branch and operational managers, strengthening management accountability and ensuring that
Courtenay, Duncan and Campbell River operate as an integrated organization rather than as separate operating silos.
Based primarily in Courtenay, the position will have an significant mandate to develop North Island capacity and growth
while maintaining company-wide alignment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leadership and coordination of operations across Courtenay, Duncan and Campbell River.
- Development of a cohesive three-branch management and accountability structure.
- Leadership, development and performance management of branch and operational managers.
- Company-wide workforce planning, management development and succession.
- Allocation of operational human, material and financial resources.
- Development of operating priorities, budgets and investment requirements with the CEO.
- Development of enterprise and branch-level KPIs and executive management reporting.
- Establishment of structured management and operating reviews.
- Translation of corporate strategy into operating plans, budgets, owners, milestones and measurable outcomes.
- Business-side leadership of technology and operating-system modernization.
- Fleet, route, distribution and operational-capacity planning.
- Development of documented management systems and operating practices that improve consistency and scalability.
- Development of North Island growth capacity from Courtenay and Campbell River.
- Expansion and operational development of bulk-water services.
- Development and improvement of cistern-cleaning services.
