BMP Mechanical Ltd. is a Calgary-based commercial and industrial mechanical contractor. Our Service Division supports clients across plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical maintenance work, and we're looking for a detail-oriented Billing and AR Clerk to keep our service billing and collections running smoothly.

Position Summary
The Service Billing and AR Clerk is responsible for generating accurate and timely invoices for service work, tracking accounts receivable, and supporting collections efforts across the Service Division. This role works closely with dispatch, technicians, and the finance team to ensure billing reflects completed work orders and that outstanding balances are actively managed.

Key Responsibilities

- Review completed service work orders and prepare accurate customer invoices
- Reconcile billed amounts against job costing, material costs, and labor hours
- Maintain and update the AR aging report; flag overdue accounts for follow-up
- Contact customers regarding outstanding balances and payment discrepancies
- Respond to customer billing inquiries and resolve disputes professionally




- Support month-end close by ensuring all service billing is current
- Maintain organized billing records and documentation for audit purposes
- Collaborate with dispatch/service coordinators to resolve missing or incomplete work order info before invoicing

Qualifications

- 2+ years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, or related accounting role (mechanical/construction/trades industry an asset)
- Proficiency with accounting/ERP software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in high-volume invoicing environments
- Excellent communication skills for customer-facing collections conversations
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines in a fast-paced workplace
- Experience with service work order systems or job costing is an asset
