Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Live-In Home Support Worker to provide care and companionship to an elderly person in a private home in Peace River, Alberta. The successful candidate will assist with daily activities and help maintain a safe, comfortable, and supportive home workplace.

The position includes providing personal care and companionship, preparing nutritious meals, assisting with daily routines, and performing light housekeeping and laundry related to the care of the elderly person. The worker can live in the employer's home and will have a private living space

Duties

- Provide comprehensive personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support to elderly residents.
- Assist with medication administration following prescribed schedules and safety protocols.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Support residents with daily activities such as light housekeeping, laundry, and maintaining a clean living environment.
- Monitor health status, observe changes in condition,



and communicate updates to healthcare professionals or family members promptly.
- Engage residents in social activities and meaningful conversations to promote mental well-being.
- Assist with mobility and transfer techniques using proper lifting methods to ensure safety for both resident and caregiver.

Requirements

- Proven experience in assisted living, home care, or nursing home settings with elderly or disabled individuals.
- Strong background in patient care, dementia care, hospice support, or senior care.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle physically demanding tasks regularly.
- Knowledge of medication administration procedures and safety standards.
- Excellent caregiving skills with a compassionate approach and patience.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is preferred.
- Valid certifications in caregiving, first aid, CPR (or willingness to obtain).

Pay: $21.72-$21.80 per hour
