liya Immigration Service Inc. is seeking a lawyer licensed to practise in British Columbia for a flexible, professional, and long-term working relationship.

With over 10 years of experience, our firm has worked on thousands of immigration matters for clients from a wide range of countries. Given our current volume of work and the diverse legal needs of our clients, we are looking for a lawyer who can work with our team on selected matters on a part-time, case-by-case basis.

The work is not limited to immigration law and, depending on the matter, may include immigration, contractual disputes, debt and payment recovery, and other civil litigation matters.

Areas of Potential Work

- Providing legal opinions and analysis
- Drafting or reviewing legal correspondence, submissions, and documents
- Reviewing and interpreting contracts
- Handling contractual disputes
- Pursuing unpaid amounts and debt recovery
- Negotiating and corresponding in relation to dispute resolution
- Small Claims matters before the Provincial Court of British Columbia
- Civil litigation before the Supreme Court of British Columbia
- Court appearances and representation, where required

Volume of Work

We currently have a significant number of active matters and expect to have approximately five files ready to be referred to the selected lawyer at the beginning of the relationship.

Following the initial files, and depending on the lawyer’s capacity and ability to manage the workload, we anticipate referring an average of two to three additional files per month.

If the collaboration is successful and the lawyer has additional capacity, there may be opportunities to increase the volume of referred matters.

Requirements





- Active membership in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia (LSBC)
- Ability to independently manage legal matters and files
- Robust legal research, analytical, and writing skills
- Familiarity with British Columbia court procedures and processes
- Experience in immigration law, civil litigation, contracts, or debt recovery is considered an asset
- Professional, detail-oriented, reliable, and responsive
- Ability to work effectively with a team and meet applicable deadlines

Nature of the Collaboration

This opportunity is intended as a flexible, file-based professional collaboration. The scope of work and terms for each matter can be agreed upon before the file is referred to the lawyer.
