Optical Sales Associate / Optometric Assistant

Pay: CA$18.00–CA$30.00 per hour (based on experience)

About Us

Wales Optical is a luxury eyewear and specialty contact lens clinic located in First Markham Place, Markham. We have proudly served the community for over 20 years and are looking for a friendly, professional, and motivated individual to join our team.

What You'll Do

- Assist customers with selecting eyeglasses, sunglasses, and contact lenses by providing professional recommendations
- Support opticians and optometrists with daily clinic and retail operations
- Handle billing, invoicing, insurance claims, and POS transactions
- Book and manage appointments and follow up with patients as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming clinic environment
- Accurately enter and update customer information and prescriptions
- Assist with frame merchandising, inventory management, and product displays
- Learn about lens products and educate customers on available options and features

What We're Looking For

- High school diploma required; college or university education is an asset
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Fluent in English and Mandarin (Cantonese is an asset)
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced retail and healthcare environment
- Previous experience in retail, optical, medical,



banking, or customer service is preferred but not required
- Positive attitude, professional appearance, and robust attention to detail
- Sales experience and confidence in recommending products are considered assets
- Reliable, responsible, and eager to learn new skills
- Available to work flexible schedules, including Saturdays (Store is closed on Sundays)
