Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly upon arrival, creating a friendly and professional atmosphere that encourages trust and comfort.
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Epic.
- Manage multi-line phone systems to answer inquiries, provide information, and direct calls efficiently.
- Verify patient insurance details, process payments, and handle billing procedures accurately.
- Maintain organized electronic medical records (EMRs) and ensure all documentation complies with privacy regulations.
- Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes, including updating medical histories and collecting necessary forms.
- Coordinate communication between patients and dental providers regarding treatment plans or follow-up care.
- Support the dental team by managing front desk operations, including handling correspondence and office supplies.
Experience
- Prior experience as a dental receptionist or in a medical office setting is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with dental practice management software.
- Solid knowledge of medical terminology helps facilitate clear communication with patients and staff.
- Proven ability to manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism and courtesy.
- Demonstrated experience working with electronic medical records (EMRs) ensures accurate documentation.
- Office experience in a fast-paced environment is beneficial for adapting quickly to workflow demands.
