Scholars Education in St. Catharines is seeking a math tutor, capable of tutoring till grade 12 general math, Advanced Functions, Data Management, Algebra, Calculus, Physics, and possibly Chemistry confidently at the high school level. Teaching materials are provided to you as you facilitate the learning of our students and help to create a positive and encouraging atmosphere. As a tutor and mentor with Scholars Education Centre, you will be responsible to provide superior individualized academic support to students. You are joining a dynamic team who want you to make a difference for each student who you have the prospect of working with!
Essential Job Functions
- Instruct students on an as-needed basis. Curriculum materials provided.
- Accurately provide reporting regarding student progress as required.
- Follow, adapt, and provide feedback regarding each student’s tutoring session.
- Attend training workshops as needed.
- This is an IN PERSON position.
Requirements
- University graduate, or must be currently enrolled in a university level program with good standing.
- Proficiency in English is a must.
- French language skills considered an asset.
- Proven ability to competently and confidently facilitate student sessions. (preferred)
- Able to work both as a part of a team and independently.
- Strong communication and multitasking abilities.
- Experience with students in a teaching or tutoring environment.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Job is a PT position, or supplementary income position.
Must be available for a minimum of two of the following: Monday (3-8pm), Tuesday (3-8pm), Wednesday (3-8pm), Thursday (3-8pm), and Saturday (9am-2pm).
More than 2 days availability an asset.
Flexible scheduling.
No FT positions available.
Compensation: $20.00/hr (Starting)
