JOB OVERVIEW

Tanaka Kintsugi Wellness and Transformation Inc. is a growing group practice in Whitby, Ontario, committed to helping individuals, couples, and families heal, reconnect, and move forward with intention.

Inspired by the Japanese art of Kintsugi—the restoration of broken pottery with gold—we believe that the places where people have experienced hurt or difficulty can become places of strength, growth, and transformation.

We are seeking compassionate and skilled Counsellors / Psychotherapists to join our growing clinical team as independent contractors.

This opportunity is not limited to experienced clinicians. We welcome applications from newly qualifying counsellors and psychotherapists, as well as clinicians who are beginning their careers and looking for mentorship, consultation, and support as they develop their practice.

We are particularly interested in clinicians who want to grow with a practice and develop their clinical skills within a collaborative environment.

DUTIES

- Provide professional counselling and psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families, youth, and/or adults within your scope of practice.
- Conduct client assessments and develop appropriate treatment goals and therapeutic plans.
- Provide trauma-informed, client-centred therapeutic interventions.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation.
- Establish and maintain appropriate professional and therapeutic boundaries.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment approaches as clinically appropriate.
- Support clients experiencing concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma,



relationship difficulties, family concerns, grief, stress, life transitions, and personal growth.
- Collaborate with the Tanaka Kintsugi clinical team when consultation is appropriate.
- Participate in clinical consultation, supervision, and professional development as applicable.
- Maintain professional registration, liability insurance, and other requirements relevant to your regulatory body and scope of practice.
- Conduct yourself in accordance with applicable legislation, professional standards, ethical requirements, and Tanaka Kintsugi policies.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

- Experienced counsellors and psychotherapists.
- Newly qualifying clinicians.
- Clinicians early in their professional careers.
- Clinicians transitioning into private or group practice.
- Registered Psychotherapists and Registered Social Workers.
- MSW graduates who are not yet registered and are seeking support in their professional development.
- Clinicians with specialized experience in trauma, couples, family, youth, or other areas.
- Multilingual clinicians.
- Clinicians from diverse cultural and faith backgrounds.

Pay: $90.00-$150.00 per hour
