Responsibilities
Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including cleanings, fillings, extractions, and orthodontic treatments.
Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and setting up necessary equipment such as CAD (Computer-Aided Design) tools for restorative procedures.
Provide excellent patient care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring comfort throughout visits.
Manage patient records using dental software systems like Epic and Dentrix, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Support front desk staff by handling administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and verifying insurance information.
Assist with pediatric patients by creating a calm setting and explaining procedures in an age-appropriate manner.
Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and medical terminology standards to ensure safety and compliance.
Skills
Proficiency with dental software systems such as Epic and Dentrix for record-keeping and appointment management.
Experience with orthodontics procedures and supporting orthodontic treatments is highly desirable.
Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices to effectively assist young patients.
Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to dental care environments.
Familiarity with CAD technology used in restorative dentistry for designing dental restorations or appliances.
Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist or front desk assistant, capable of managing patient interactions smoothly.
Ability to work efficiently in a team-oriented environment while maintaining attention to detail and high standards of hygiene.
