Overview
As our Junior Cook, you will be responsible to assist our Cook with proper food preparation and the delivery of high-quality menu items. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for individuals with a strong interest in culinary arts to kick-start their career in a energetic kitchen environment. Your duties and responsibilities include, but may not limited to:

- Assisting with opening and closing duties as needed.
- Assisting with preparing, cooking and assembling menu items according to our established menu and standards.
- Assisting with maintaining cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations and equipment.
- Ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards at all times.
- Supporting our Cook during peak hours by expediting orders.
- Assisting with inventory management through stock rotation and replenishment of ingredients.
- Collaborating with other members of staff to ensure the kitchen and barista station run smoothly.

What we are looking for:

- High School Diploma or equivalent; culinary education and/or training is an asset.
- Previous experience working in a kitchen environment is preferred.
- Have a passion for the industry and a desire to pursue a career in culinary arts.
- Basic knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety practices and principles.
- Training in all required areas (as per Ontario law) related to working in a kitchen (WHMIS, Safe Food Handling Course, etc.) is preferrable.
- Ability to work in a quick-paced environment and multitask effectively.
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and eagerness to contribute to the overall success of the business.
- Our @Bistro is open Monday to Friday, during regular business hours. However,



we do offer catering and event services outside of regular hours, and therefore, this role will require evening and/or weekend shifts from time to time.
