St. Jacobs Place Retirement Residence offers luxury retirement and assisted living in Ontario's rural gem, the village of St. Jacobs, at the northern edge of Kitchener Waterloo. The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

- Prepare meals for residents and guests ensuring all dietary needs are met
- Ensures residents are satisfied with all aspects of food preparation and presentation




- Respond to resident and/or family member dietary related concerns in a timely manner assuring the concern is brought to the attention of the Culinary Manager
- Effectively communicate and interact with residents, family members, visitors and volunteers professionally
- Operate and clean food production equipment and food preparation areas

Cook Qualifications Include:

-Strong knowledge in homestyle farm to table meals

- ability to read and follow set recipes

-strong organizational and time management skills

-passion for food and the culinary industry

-current food handlers certification is an asset

-customer service oriented

This is a permanent part time cook position. Must be available for weekend shifts. The shifts for this position are a combination of either 7:00am to 1:30pm or 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. The considered candidate will be flexible and available for either shift as needed.

Pay: $18.80 per hour

- cooking: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Food Safe, SafeCheck, Food Handler or equivalent (preferred)
