Reports To

Maintenance Manager

Job Duties

- Daily, weekly and monthly cleaning responsibilities including common areas and washrooms in two apartment buildings
- Floor mopping/scrubbing, shampoo and vacuuming as required
- Frequent cleaning of high contact areas
- Proactively report and/or attend to resident complaints in a professional and courteous manner
- Protect the health and safety of others by adopting safe work practices and reporting unsafe conditions immediately to their supervisor
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of the facilities, common areas and guest washrooms
- Some other maintenance duties including snow shovelling, sand/salt distribution is required during the winter months

Job Requirements

- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Solid working knowledge of janitorial industry principles, methods, practices, and techniques
- Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
- Demonstrated time management skills
- Familiarity with floor scrubbers, carpet shampoo equipment, floor waxing and stain removal an asset
- Good health and mobility to respond to a physically demanding job on a daily basis

Working Conditions

- Extended periods of standing, walking and other physically demanding conditions on a daily basis
- Lifting, moving, or manipulating objects up to 15 kilograms
- Use of required personal protective equipment
- Interaction with senior residents, and the public at large
- Working shifts Monday to Friday between 8:00am and 4:00pm
- Approximately 22.5 hours per week

Pay: $18.00-$19.00 per hour
