Job Summary
The Research Agreements Assistant (RAA) reports to the Manager, Research Agreements (MRA), and supports the Research Agreements team and the wider Innovation & Partnerships Office (IPO) portfolio by processing intake and signature requests for the unit. The RAA is an essential part of the unit’s workflow and central to its efficiency. The RAA helps to triage, track, manage, and execute contracts and agreements within the unit’s portfolio, and utilizes multiple systems and databases.
Job Requirements
Experience:
This position requires a level of education, training, and experience equivalent to 3 years’ experience working within a comparable environment, including excellent administrative skills and demonstrated experience working independently.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to prioritize and manage time and tasks with attention to detail in a high-volume office with emergent and shifting timelines.
- Ability to contribute to a team and work effectively with both peers and supervisors.
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and tailor communication style for different audiences (internal and external to UVic).
- Ability to prioritize a high workload with frequent interruptions.
- Experience in maintaining confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to exercise good judgement, tact, and diplomacy regarding sensitive and confidential matters.
- Proficiency with computer applications (i.e., MS-Office Suite, Adobe Create Suite, content management systems).
- Commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive and respectful working and learning setting.
Specialized Knowledge/Education:
- Experience working in a legal setting would be an asset
- Experience working in a research administration environment would be an asset
- Experience working with Docusign would be an asset
- Some post-secondary education
