Join our dynamic team as a Dog Trainer and unleash your passion for working with dogs! In this energetic role, you will be responsible for training dogs of all breeds and temperaments, helping them develop valuable behaviour and obedience. Income opportunities are endless with commission based income as well has hourly. Compensation matched to experiencce.

Responsibilities

- Conduct one-on-one and group training sessions to teach basic commands, leash manners, and behavioral modifications
- Train dogs directly under video to share with owner, fill out homework and communicate with owner at turn over with daycare based training programs.
- Participate in assigned overnight housesitting, walks, hikes, training adventures and more.
- Assess each dog’s temperament and develop customized training plans to meet individual needs
- Demonstrate training techniques clearly to pet owners, encouraging consistent practice at home
- Handle dogs safely during training sessions, ensuring their well-being and safety at all times
- Assist with socialization activities to improve dogs’ confidence and adaptability in various environments
- Maintain detailed records of training progress, behaviors observed, and milestones achieved




- Support the team by helping with enrichment daycare management and cleaning duties as needed.

Skills

- Robust customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners and address their concerns
- Ability to handle physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting of equipment or dogs when necessary
- Passion for animal welfare with a genuine enthusiasm for dog training and behavior modification
- Excellent interpersonal skills to motivate pet owners and foster positive relationships
- Patience, adaptability, and a proactive attitude in managing diverse dog personalities and training challenges
- Basic understanding of canine body language and behavior cues
- Previous experience in dog training or related animal care roles is required; willingness to learn is essential. Experience with your own family pet is not considered relevant experience. Special preferences for clicker training, shaping, and lure based training.
