Superior Property Group Ltd. is looking for a dependable and experienced Skilled Labourer to join our custom home construction team.

This position is suited for someone who is comfortable working on active residential construction sites, can work independently when required, and has experience using common construction tools and completing a wide variety of tasks throughout the different stages of a custom home build.

Daily Responsibilities

Daily duties may include:

- Assisting with custom home construction from foundation through finishing stages
- Site setup, organization and daily cleanup
- Loading, unloading and moving construction materials
- Measuring, cutting and installing lumber and building materials
- Assisting carpenters with framing walls, floors, roofs and interior partitions
- Installing blocking, backing, strapping and miscellaneous framing
- Installing insulation, vapour barrier and air sealing materials
- Installing doors, windows and exterior building components
- Assisting with siding, soffit, fascia and exterior finishing
- Installing interior trim, baseboard and other finishing materials when required
- Minor drywall installation, patching and preparation work
- Concrete preparation, forming and general foundation-related work
- Assisting with decks, porches, stairs and exterior structures
- Operating saws, drills, grinders and other power tools safely
- Material takeoffs and helping determine what materials are required for upcoming work
- Maintaining tools, equipment and work areas
- Following construction drawings and instructions from supervisors
- Coordinating with carpenters,



subcontractors and other trades on site
- Identifying deficiencies or potential problems and reporting them to the site supervisor
- Maintaining a clean, professional and safe jobsite at all times

Required Experience & Skills

The ideal candidate should have:

- Previous residential construction experience
- Experience working on custom homes considered a strong asset
- General knowledge of framing and residential construction practices
- Ability to accurately use a tape measure and understand basic construction measurements
- Ability to read basic construction drawings and plans
- Experience safely operating common hand and power tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a construction crew
- Good problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable transportation to and from jobsites
- Valid driver's licence preferred
- Ability to safely lift and carry construction materials
- Comfortable working outdoors and in changing weather conditions
- Comfortable working from ladders and at heights when required

Basic Hand Tools Required

Applicants should have their own basic construction hand tools, including:

- Tool belt/pouch
- 25' or 30' tape measure
- Hammer
- Speed square




- Utility knife
- Chalk line
- Carpenter pencils/markers
- Torpedo level
- Pry bar
- Nail puller/cat's paw
- Adjustable wrench
- Pliers
- Side cutters
- Screwdriver set or multi-bit screwdriver
- Tin snips
- Basic socket/wrench set
- Personal work gloves

Major power tools and specialized construction equipment will be supplied by the company unless otherwise arranged.
