Position Type: Permanent Part-Time / Seasonal Peaks (~1,200 Hours/Year)

Compensation: $22.00 – $24.00 / hour (based on experience) + Advantages & Bonus Potential

Position Overview

We are looking for a dependable, safety-focused Class D or DZ Driver to deliver live potted plants to wholesale partners, garden centers, and retail stores throughout Niagara, Hamilton, and the GTA.

You will operate a well-maintained, automatic Hino straight truck. This role offers an annualized schedule averaging ~25 hours per week (~1,200 hours per year), scaling up during the busy spring shipping rush and major floral holiday peaks, with lighter, flexible schedules during quieter stretches.

Schedule & Hours

- Annual Hours: ~1,200 hours/year (~25 hours/week annualized average).
- Seasonal Flow: Extended hours (up to 40–50+ hrs/week) during peak spring shipping and holiday surges; lighter daytime runs (10–20 hrs/week) during off-peak windows.
- Weekend Availability: Required availability for Saturday and Sunday deliveries, particularly during peak retail shipping periods.
- Shift Structure: Local day routes only; home every night (no layovers or overnight routes).

Key Responsibilities

- Safely operate an automatic Hino straight truck along the Niagara Peninsula and QEW/GTA corridor.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections (circle checks) and maintain accurate documentation.




- Safely load, unload, and secure rolling greenhouse shipping racks (CC carts) using a hydraulic power liftgate.
- Monitor climate conditions to protect live, perishable plant cargo in transit.
- Maintain professional, courteous relationships with customer receiving staff.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Valid Ontario Class D (or DZ) Driver’s Licence with a clean commercial driving abstract (CVOR).
- Proven experience driving straight trucks in Southern Ontario traffic.
- Comfortable operating an automatic transmission straight truck.
- Availability to work weekend shifts (Saturdays & Sundays) during shipping peaks.
- Physical capability to roll, push, and maneuver greenhouse shipping carts.

Compensation & Benefits
