Position: Facilities Maintenance Lead Hand (Multi-Site / Hands-On)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly resourceful, technical, and deeply hands-on Facilities Maintenance Lead Hand to manage and execute the physical care of our industrial and commercial property portfolio. This is a balanced hands-on maintenance/ renovation/mechanical role which includes the active coordination of an internal team and external specialized trades.

Key Responsibilities

- Hands-on Asset Repairs and Preventative Maintenance: Independently troubleshoot, diagnose, plan and execute minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and structural building envelopes, equipment repairs and renovations across all sites as well as groundskeeping.
- Industrial System Care: Directly inspect, service, and maintain industrial facility assets including overhead bay doors, dock levelers, appliance, mechanical equipment.
- Internal Crew Leadership: This hands-on position will be the lead hand that will coordinate the daily workflows based on priorities assigned, assign and execute tasks, review work quality, and manage tools/supplies for our internal maintenance department (3-5 members).
- Vendor & Contractor Oversight: define accurate job scopes, and actively supervise external commercial contractors (e.g., commercial roofers, HVAC Electricians) that will be required at time for some tasks
- Compliance Audits:



Conduct formal monthly building walkthroughs and inspections to ensure continuous alignment with the Ontario Fire Code, company standards, meter readings, HVAC filters, etc.

Required Qualifications

- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of facilities building maintenance experience, with experience maintaining industrial warehouses, manufacturing, or commercial spaces. (Purely residential or apartment experience will not be considered).
- Multi-tasking Skills: Proven adaptability to shifting priorities
- Leadership Skills: Proven experience to provide direction, support and distribute planned and emergency maintenance activities. Distribute workloads; directly overseeing, while hands on, maintenance helpers and trade workers.
- Organizational Skills: Maintain a safe, organized and efficient maintenance environment, ensuring compliance with safety and corporate policies, procedures, housekeeping standards, and maintenance best practices.
- Licensing: Must hold a valid Ontario Full 'G' Driver's License with a clean driving record, Working at Heights and valid Tow Motor License. Other trade certifications and licenses will be considered valuable assets.
- Physical Stamina: Comfortably able to lift up to 25 kg, ascend industrial ladders, work at roof heights, and execute exterior physical work in changing Ontario weather conditions.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour
