Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead construction projects from pre-construction through final completion and closeout.
The Project Manager will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, financial management, scheduling, and execution of assigned projects. This position requires a strong understanding of construction operations, drawings and specifications, subcontractor coordination, cost control, scheduling, and site safety.
The successful candidate will be comfortable managing multiple stakeholders and taking ownership of project performance while ensuring work is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Manage construction projects from pre-construction and mobilization through execution, turnover, and closeout.
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, procurement plans, and key project milestones.
Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, clients, and internal project teams.
Review construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, contracts, and other technical documentation.
Manage RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, site instructions, and project correspondence.
Monitor project costs, commitments, change management, progress billings, and overall financial performance.
Lead subcontractor procurement, scope reviews, tender analysis, negotiations, and award recommendations.
Identify project risks, schedule constraints, constructability issues, and cost exposures and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
Monitor construction progress against the approved schedule and take corrective action when required.
Conduct and participate in project meetings, coordination meetings, and progress reviews.
Work closely with site supervision to coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, sequencing, and subcontractor activities.
Maintain accurate and current project documentation using applicable construction management systems.
Ensure project activities comply with contractual requirements, applicable regulations, quality standards, and company procedures.
Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across all assigned projects.
Manage deficiencies, inspections, commissioning, turnover documentation, and project closeout.
Maintain qualified communication with clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
Proven experience in construction project management, project coordination, or a related construction leadership role.
Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, estimating, scheduling, procurement, and cost control.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and technical documentation.
Experience coordinating subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and multidisciplinary project teams.
Strong knowledge of project budgeting, forecasting, change management, and financial reporting.
Experience with construction management and documentation platforms such as Procore and Bluebeam.
Experience with scheduling or technical platforms such as Primavera P6, Civil 3D, or HeavyBid is considered an asset.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making capabilities.
Knowledge of applicable construction safety requirements and industry best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
PMP, Gold Seal, P.Eng., CET, or other relevant professional designation is considered an asset.
Experience managing projects from pre-construction through final turnover.
Experience with commercial, industrial, institutional, infrastructure, or civil construction projects.
Demonstrated responsibility for project budgets, schedules, subcontractor performance, and client relationships.
