About the role

Floor work is the part of commercial cleaning that separates a trade from general labour. Stripping a VCT floor back to bare tile, laying four even coats, and having it still look right six months later takes real skill. We are hiring someone who has it.

Precise Commercial Solutions is a commercial cleaning and facility services company based in Cambridge. We service police, transit, healthcare, education, office and industrial sites across Waterloo Region and the surrounding area. Our floor program currently runs around the nightly cleaning crews. We want one person to own it and do it properly.

What you'll do

- Strip and refinish VCT, terrazzo and other hard surfaces — prep, strip, neutralize, seal, finish
- Burnish and scrub-and-recoat on scheduled cycles to hold gloss between strips
- Hot water carpet extraction, bonnet cleaning and spot treatment
- Mix chemicals to the correct dilution for each floor type and each job
- Set up and break down work areas safely — signage, cordoning, protecting walls and baseboards
- Maintain your equipment: pads, brushes, filters, tanks and cords, and flag repairs before something fails on site
- Walk the finished job before you leave and confirm it meets standard

Required

- Two or more years of commercial floor care, with hands-on strip and wax
- Experience with swing machines, burnishers, auto-scrubbers and hot water extractors
- Working knowledge of floor chemistry — strippers, neutralizers, sealers and finishes, and where each one belongs




- Valid Ontario G licence and reliable transportation between sites
- WHMIS 2015 training, or willingness to complete it before your first shift
- Able to lift up to 50 lb and move furniture
- Available evenings and weekends — most floor work happens after hours
- Clear criminal record check (several of our sites require one)

Preferred

- Experience in police, healthcare or school environments
- Propane burnisher experience
- Familiarity with terrazzo, epoxy or sealed concrete

What we offer

$25.00 per hour. Part time, roughly 10-20 hours per month, scheduled by project and concentrated in evenings and weekends. Volume increases during school breaks and the summer period.

You will work with equipment that is maintained, chemicals that are properly stocked, and a schedule set in advance rather than dropped on you the same day.
