Chances Prince Rupert
- Prince Rupert
Description
Chances Prince Rupert is hiring a Janitor to work part time in our casino in Prince Rupert, BC.
Reporting to the Security and Facility Manager, the Janitor is responsible for ensuring a clean and safe environment for all guests and staff. The person in this position cleans the casino floor, convention centre, lounge, and all associated support areas in the back of the house. In this role, you would also be responsible for deep cleaning projects and addressing customer-identified cleaning needs within your area of expertise. The ultimate responsibility of this role is to ensure that the customer is impressed with the cleanliness of the facility, adding to each patron's exceptional experience.
In addition to routine cleaning and sanitization, the Janitor is also responsible for removing and disposing of trash and cardboard, completing inventory checks and making supplies requests when needed, using the appropriate chemicals and cleaning materials for different materials and messes, maintaining work areas and ensuring equipment is free of safety violations, keeping a janitorial log, and of course, reporting any hazardous conditions or broken equipment immediately to management.
All staff members must be at least 19 years of age and able to pass a criminal record check through the Independent Gambling Control Office (IGCO). We would love to see candidates with WHMIS certification and Appropriate Response Training Level 1 as well.
This Janitor position requires a general knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, the ability to read and understand labels and instructions, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work independently while exercising good judgment.
The position is in a casino so the successful candidate needs to be comfortable working in dim lighting with bright, flashing lights and with loud noises. This is a part-time position offering 20–30 hours per week, and a $18.25 hourly wage, but applicants must be available for weekends, evenings, and holidays.
If you are interested in joining our team as a Janitor, please apply through the application form. Alternatively, you may apply via email or in person by contacting our Security Manager at
