We originated from Vancouver Island and are now expanding to support communities across the Okanagan. Hours will be casual until our branch becomes more established.
Join our dynamic team as an Insulator specializing in Spray Foam, Batt, or Blown-In insulation techniques! We are currently looking for insulators with a background in insulation services to join our team. Insulators will be responsible for attic or crawlspace retrofits (including insulation removal) and new construction.
Duties
- Install spray foam insulation efficiently in walls, attics, basements, and crawl spaces, adhering to safety standards and manufacturer guidelines.
- Apply batt insulation between studs, joists, and rafters with precision for optimal thermal performance.
- Blow-in insulation into attics or wall cavities using specialized equipment to improve energy efficiency.
- Use caulking and sealing techniques to ensure airtight insulation installations and prevent air leaks.
- Read blueprints and construction plans to determine insulation placement, dimensions, and specifications.
- Utilize drywall tools for finishing touches around insulated areas when necessary to ensure a seamless finish.
Qualifications
- Solid proficiency in English (written and spoken) - Required
- Minimum two years insulation experience (sprayfoam, batt or blown-in)- Required
- Previous general labour experience - Preferred
- Ability to complete projects within stringent timeframes
- Ability to work in confined spaces (attics/crawlspaces)
- Reliable transportation to commute to varying properties
- Knowledge of different insulation types such as spray foam, batt, and blown-in materials.
- Familiarity with construction safety practices and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Construction experience or related technical training is a plus for success in this role.
License/Certification:
- A valid BC Driver's License
Physical Activity Description:
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor including lifting heavy materials, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
- Climbing up and down ladder in attics
- Bending and standing with weight
- Pulling, pushing and torso twisting movements to distribute insulation and to transfer materials from truck
- Lifting and carrying insulation and insulation machinery up to 50 lbs
