Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Stair Builder and Finish Carpenter to join our dynamic construction team in Newfoundland. This role offers an exciting opportunity to craft high-quality staircases and finish carpentry elements that enhance the beauty and functionality of residential and commercial projects. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for precision craftsmanship, a keen eye for detail, and a strong background in carpentry and construction. Your expertise will help transform blueprints into stunning, durable structures that meet client expectations and industry standards.
Duties
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to accurately execute staircases and finish carpentry projects.
- Construct, install, and repair staircases, handrails, balustrades, and other woodwork components with precision using hand tools and power tools.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and fit wood and other materials to create seamless finishes on stairs, walls, ceilings, cabinetry, and custom woodwork.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other trades to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining quality standards.
- Perform concrete forming, drywall installation, flooring setup, tile laying, siding work, roofing tasks, and masonry as needed to support comprehensive construction efforts.
- Conduct restoration work on existing structures including rebar installation, caulking, painting, and general handyman tasks to ensure durability and aesthetic appeal.
- Maintain a protected work environment by adhering to safety protocols related to heavy lifting, rebar handling, scaffolding setup, electrical systems (if applicable),
plumbing connections (if applicable), and equipment operation.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in carpentry with a focus on stair building and finish carpentry; construction experience is essential.
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, construction estimating, and technical drawings.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, CNC machinery (if applicable), and other woodworking equipment.
- Familiarity with concrete forming techniques, drywall installation, flooring installation (including tile), masonry work including rebar installation, siding application, roofing tasks, plumbing basics, electrical experience (a plus), and general construction skills.
- Ability to lift heavy materials safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to craftsmanship quality.
- Valid experience in restoration projects or handyman services is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration across teams.

Pay: $33.00-$40.33 per hour
