Role Overview

The Burro Fork Truck Operator, reporting to the Operations Manager, is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of Burro trucks and related equipment to support waste and recycling operations. The role includes moving containers and materials, supporting yard operations, and maintaining equipment in safe working condition.

Key Responsibilities

- Safely operate Burro trucks and related equipment to move and position containers and materials.
- Complete daily equipment inspections and promptly report mechanical issues or deficiencies.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance, including cleaning and greasing.
- Assist with container maintenance, yard operations, and general site upkeep.
- Support loading, unloading, and movement of materials and equipment as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety policies and safe operating procedures.
- Work cooperatively with supervisors and team members.
- Assist with other operational duties as required.

Qualifications

- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence required.
- Previous experience operating a Burro truck, forklift, heavy equipment, or similar machinery is an asset.
- Experience in waste management, recycling, construction, transportation,



or industrial operations is an asset.
- Mechanically inclined with the ability to identify and report equipment issues.
- Strong commitment to safety.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Comfortable working outdoors and performing general physical tasks.

Working Conditions

- Primarily an outdoor/yard-based position.
- Exposure to moving equipment, vehicle traffic, dust, noise, fumes, and varying weather conditions.
- Requires regular walking, standing, bending, and entering/exiting equipment.

Job Types: Full time, Permanent

Pay: From $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week

Experience:

- Waste collection: 1 year (preferred)
- Truck Driving: 2 years (required)
