Description

Valley Prime Caregivers is seeking dedicated and passionate Licensed Practical Nurses to work closely with medical practitioners, registered nurses, and other healthcare team members to provide high-quality patient care in long-term care facilities in the Annapolis Valley.

Duties

- Provide nursing services, within defined scope of practice, to patients based on patient assessment and care planning procedures
- Perform nursing interventions such as taking vital signs, applying aseptic techniques including sterile dressing, ensuring infection control, monitoring nutritional intake and conducting specimen collection
- Administer medication and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and observe and document therapeutic effects
- Monitor established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy
- Monitor patients' progress, evaluate and document effectiveness of nursing interventions and collaborate with appropriate members of health care team




- Provide safety and health education to individuals and their families

Skills and Experience

- Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse and registered in NS College of Nursing
- Previous experience in case management with ability to problem-solve and analyze patient situations
- Solid knowledge of nursing principles and practices
- Proficient clinical skills with exceptional attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Healthy interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Ability to work independently and without immediate supervision
- Ability to perform work for extended periods with physical endurance
- Proficient in electronic medical record systems

- Must have the means to travel to different sites

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $34.00-$38.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Kentville, NS: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

- LPN: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid and CPR certification (preferred)
- LPN/RPN license (required)
