We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) for contract opportunity in Northern, Ontario. This is an excellent opportunity for an NP with strong clinical experience who is comfortable working in a hospital environment and caring for ALC (Alternate Level of Care) and rehabilitation patients. Candidates with strong inpatient RN experience and LTC experience may also be considered.

Responsibilities

- Assess, diagnose, and manage patients within scope of practice.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories and physical examinations.
- Develop and implement appropriate treatment and care plans.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging, and other investigations.
- Prescribe medications and treatments within scope of practice.
- Provide ongoing care and management for ALC and rehabilitation patients.
- Recognize and manage patients with acute and complex medical conditions.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated patient care.
- Provide patient and family education regarding diagnoses, treatment, medications, and follow-up care.




- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation using electronic health records.
- Follow hospital policies, clinical protocols, and applicable regulatory standards.

Qualifications

- Current and valid Nurse Practitioner licence
- Minimum 2 years of Nurse Practitioner experience
- Candidates with 5+ years of recent inpatient RN experience will also be considered.
- LTC experience may be considered in place of ER experience.
- Experience caring for ALC and rehabilitation patients is an asset.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a hospital environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification preferred.
