Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner specializing in Hepatology to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide advanced nursing care focused on liver health, diagnosing and managing complex hepatology conditions primarily focusing on cirrhosis care. Your expertise will help improve patient outcomes through comprehensive assessments, personalized treatment plans, and collaborative care. You will work closely with physicians, to deliver exceptional patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

- Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including history taking and physical examinations focused on hepatology-related conditions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with liver diseases, ensuring adherence to best practices and clinical guidelines
- Manage medication administration, monitor treatment responses, and adjust therapies as needed to optimize patient health outcomes
- Collaborate with physicians, to coordinate comprehensive care for complex cases
- Educate patients and their families about liver health, disease management strategies, lifestyle modifications, and medication adherence
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient encounters using electronic health record

- Minimum Salary: $68.00
- Maximum Salary: Negotiable

Required Qualifications:

Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program, with a minimum of a Master's degree. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) on the Nurse Practitioner Registrar, including Provisional Graduate Nurse Practitioner licensure. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Recent clinic experience in General Internal Medicine, Hepatology, GI or acute care or other medicine subspecialty focus. Additional training in Lab and DI investigations would be an asset. Demonstrated commitment to professional development. Experience in research, education and quality improvement initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum of 2 years’ recent experience as an NP in a relevant clinical setting.

- Effective communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Ability to handle complex cases involving medical history review, medication reconciliation, and laboratory result interpretation
