School Cleaner & ECA/RECE Coverage Staff

Early Learners Montessori School is looking for a reliable, hardworking, and caring team member to join our school in a flexible Cleaning & Classroom Coverage position.

This role is ideal for an ECA/RECE or childcare professional who enjoys working in a school environment and is comfortable taking responsibility for keeping the school exceptionally clean, organized, and sanitary, while also providing classroom coverage when needed.

Primary Responsibility: School Cleaning

- Complete daily cleaning and sanitation of classrooms, washrooms, hallways, common areas, and staff spaces.
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, and clean floors throughout the school.
- Clean and disinfect tables, shelves, high-touch surfaces, toys, and classroom materials.
- Maintain clean and sanitary washrooms and replenish supplies.
- Empty garbage and recycling and maintain garbage areas.
- Complete daily and scheduled deep-cleaning duties.
- Ensure classrooms and shared spaces are clean, organized, and ready for children each day.
- Follow all school cleaning, sanitation, health, and safety procedures.
- Identify and report maintenance, safety, or cleaning concerns to management.

Classroom Coverage & Support

When cleaning responsibilities are completed or coverage is required, you will:

- Provide classroom coverage for educators during breaks,



absences, and staff transitions.
- Support children during meals, outdoor play, transitions, and daily routines.
- Assist educators with classroom organization and preparation.
- Support a safe, calm, and positive environment for children.
- Provide support across different Montessori classrooms as needed.

- Extremely reliable and dependable.
- Takes pride in cleanliness and pays close attention to detail.
- Comfortable performing physical cleaning duties throughout the day.
- Organized, efficient, and able to work independently.
- Warm and comfortable working around young children.
- Flexible and willing to assist wherever the school needs support.
- An ECA/RECE or has previous childcare, school, or professional cleaning experience.

Requirements

- Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Standard First Aid & CPR Level C for classroom coverage.
- Must meet applicable Ministry/CCEYA requirements for duties involving children.
- Montessori experience is an asset but not required.

This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming school setting while also being available to support our educators and children when needed.
