We are excited to announce the opening of Gollop Wine Shop; A current boutique wine shop and tasting bar in the heart of Niagara-on-the-Lake. We are looking for enthusiastic, service-focused wine lovers to join our team. This is an opportunity to be part of a growing business that celebrates exceptional wines, local producers, and memorable guest experiences. The Wine Concierge will be key to establishing the business and creating our reputation for exceptional service and experiences that will spread around the world.

About the Role

As a Wine Concierge, you will be the face of our boutique. You will provide a warm welcome to guests, sharing wine knowledge, and helping customers discover wines they will love. You will create an inviting shopping experience and wine tasting experience while supporting daily retail operations.

Responsibilities

- Greet and engage guests in a warm, qualified manner
- Provide personalized wine recommendations based on customer preferences
- Share knowledge of Niagara, Canadian, and international wines
- Process sales transactions accurately using a point-of-sale system
- Maintain attractive retail displays and merchandise presentations
- Assist with inventory management, receiving shipments, and stock replenishment
- Keep the shop clean, organized, and welcoming at all times
- Support wine tastings, special events, and educational experiences
- Promote wine club memberships, special offers,



and upcoming events

Qualifications

- Passion for wine, food, hospitality, and customer service
- Previous retail, hospitality, winery, or tourism experience is an asset
- Strong communication, interpersonal and sales skills
- Ability to learn and confidently discuss wines and wine regions
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and peak tourism periods with flexible hours.
- Ability to lift and move cases of wine weighing up to 40 lbs
- Positive attitude, reliability, and a team-oriented approach
- Smart Serve Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Basic wine knowledge. WSET or Sommelier certification is an asset.
